RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) in the AI Portal has a one time setup that consists of two steps.

1. Deploy the Embeddings Model

  1. In the Azure Portal, go to Microsoft Foundry → locate your AiPortal (should say name-uf-aiportal). Click into it and click “Go to Foundry Portal”

b. In Foundry Portal — On the left sidebar locate “Models and Endpoints” and click Deploy Model → Deploy Base Model

c. Locate ‘text-embedding-3-large’ and click confirm

Next to Deployment Details, click customize to expand the details

Make sure the slider is all the way to the right, giving maximum quota to your embeddings deployment, then click Deploy
