The AI Portal supports role-based access control for providers. For example, to restrict access to a marketing RAG to the Marketing team, assign the appropriate portal role to authorized users. Only users with that role can access the provider.

1. Create Custom Role

  1. Navigate to **App registrations → locate your AI Portal Application**
  2. Under Manage → App Roles Click “Create app role”

c. Create your custom role, please note the “value” field (will be used in a later step)

2. Assign users to the role

See Assign a Role to a User , and assign the correct users/groups the role

3. Limit Providers to that role

  1. In the Admin Panel in your AI Portal, locate the provider you’d like to restrict and click edit provider

b. Add the “value” of your custom role to the list of values, click add and then save provider
